Ashanti Shequoiya, also known by the name Ashanti was born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actress. Ashanti was first discovered when she was a teenager and eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. The same year, she was featured in the Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's single, Always on Time and Fat Joe's What's luv? First female artist to be atop the top two positions within the United States, with Foolish at number one, and What's Luv? at number two.
